With the school year wrapping up next week, we’re getting so close to our first day of camp – only 12 more days! Mark your calendars for our Camp Day on Saturday, June 21st from 1-3 pm. Join us for family fun with camp activities, don’t forget your bathing suits and towels as our inflatable slip n slide will be ready for enjoyment! You’ll also get to meet our fantastic team.
Today, I’m providing an overview of our drop-off and pick-up procedures. Please review the
map for details.
DROP OFF
Camper Drop Off:8:30 am – 9:00 am
If registered for Morning Camp (extended hours) drop off as early as 7:30 am.
Directions: Coming from Route 108, enter using the first entrance on Mink Hollow Road into Mater Amoris. You have two options:
Curbside: Form two lanes, following the arrows towards the drop off area without parking, just pull up to our greeting area, check in, and drop off.
Park & Walk: Park in a designated parking spot and walk to the greeting area to check in.
Check In: Upon arrival, we will confirm registration and ensure we have all necessary documentation. If we need additional items, we may ask you to park or pull over.
Exit: Use the exit to either turn left or right onto Mink Hollow Road. Please be aware, you may turn left from either lane.
Late Drop Off: No problem, just send us a quick text or give us a call at 301-852-0909 or email at info@CampRipplingBrook.com so we know to expect you later.
PICK UP
Camper Pick Up: 4:00 pm – 4:30 pm
If registered for Afternoon Camp (extended hours) pick up as late as 6:00 pm.
Directions: Use the first entrance off of Mink Hollow Road, same as drop off.
Curbside: Form two lanes and follow the arrows pulling up to the greeting area, let us know who you are picking up, and be prepared to show ID for authorization. Your camper will then be walked to the car by a staff member.
Park & Walk: Park in a designated parking spot and walk to the greeting area. Let us know who you are picking up and be prepared to show ID. Your camper will be brought over and walk to the car with you.
IMPORTANT - ID Check: We will confirm you are authorized to pick up by checking ID with our camper information. If someone else is picking up your camper, please let us know in advance. You can update your “authorized to pick up” list on the Household Form in your camper portal. We print these forms by Sunday evening, so inform us if you make changes after the first day of camp.
CAMPER PICK UP HOTLINE – In a rush? Text us at 301-852-0909 at least 10 minutes before picking up, and we will have your child ready.
EARLY PICK UP – Notify us the day before or morning of the early pick up with the expected time. You can also text, call or email us.
CLOSING SHOW: Join us for our weekly Closing Show at 4:00 pm on Fridays. We’ll share camp highlights with a camp song, Camp Cup team chants and poster presentations, camper awards, and the most anticipated part of the week, awarding the Camp Cup. If you join us, please ensure you properly check out your camper before leaving.
LATE PICK UP POLICY: Please pick up on time each day. A late fee of $1 per minute will be charged for late pickups. If you are running late, please notify the office.
HOW TO ASK ABOUT YOUR CAMPER’S DAY: Tired of getting “fine” or “nothing” as answers? We will send out a schedule of activities and highlights each day to help you ask specific questions. Here are some open-ended questions to try:
Tell me about your friends, counselors, and activities today.
What was your favorite thing you did today?
I saw a photo of you doing ______. Tell me about it.
What is something you’re proud of accomplishing today?
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Here’s what we’ve covered so far and what’s coming up:
May 21: Welcome to Camp & Quick Facts
May 28: Activities Overview
June 4: Health, Medications & Safety
June 18: Staff Introductions & Training
Last minute reminders before your campers’ week(s) of camp
A survey after your campers’ week(s) of camp
Thanks!
